Overview
MY YARD LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) sheets are a flexible, lightweight, and highly durable thermoforming material engineered for detailed vacuum forming and long-life mold production. These larger-format sheets are ideal for forming over plaster or concrete masters and are especially well suited for resin casting applications requiring repeat use.
LDPE captures fine surface details similar to silicone while offering significantly greater durability. Unlike silicone molds, which typically degrade after limited use, LDPE molds can be reused hundreds of times, making them a cost-effective, long-term alternative. LDPE is also the only material that does not adhere to epoxy resin, eliminating the need for release agents.
Key Features
Highly Durable & Reusable
Designed for permanent or semi-permanent molds with extended service life.
Non-Stick Surface
Does not bond to epoxy resin, simplifying demolding and cleanup.
No Pre-Heating Required
Reduces setup time and streamlines the forming process.
Flexible Yet Strong
Provides excellent elasticity while maintaining structural integrity for precision forming.
Food-Safe Material
Suitable for applications requiring food-safe contact surfaces.
Important Usage Note
LDPE may be damaged if forming pressure exceeds 60 kPa. To prevent breakage, reduce suction power and consider using a microporous forming bed when necessary.
