Overview
MYYARD LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) sheets are a lightweight, flexible, and highly durable thermoforming material designed for detailed vacuum forming and long-life mold production. These sheets perform exceptionally well when forming over plaster or concrete masters and are especially well suited for resin casting applications.
LDPE captures fine details similar to silicone while offering significantly greater longevity. Unlike silicone molds, which typically degrade after limited use, LDPE molds can be reused hundreds of times. LDPE is also non-stick to epoxy resin, making it a preferred choice for repeat resin casting.
Key Features
Highly Durable & Reusable
Ideal for permanent or semi-permanent molds with long service life.
Non-Stick Surface
Does not adhere to epoxy resin, eliminating the need for release agents.
No Pre-Heating Required
Simplifies workflow and reduces setup time during forming.
Flexible Yet Strong
Balances elasticity with durability for precision forming applications.
Food-Safe Material
Suitable for applications requiring food-safe surfaces.
Important Usage Note
LDPE may be damaged if forming pressure exceeds 60 kPa. To prevent breakage, reduce suction power and use a microporous forming bed when necessary.
